PatchTool PATCH VIEW
patch edition mode
To get into patch edition mode, do a right-click (ctrl + click when using a
one button Mac mouse) on any patch to access a menu where you select
"Go into patch edition mode", or select the "Edit patches" checkbox.
The patch edition mode enables you to:
•
Select and deselect many patches. Select /Deselect a Row, Column,
or all patches.
•
Invert a selection (i.e. swap selected and unselected patches).
•
Swap two patches.
•
Move selected patches before or after a patch, to the first column,
or to the last column.
•
Flip the patches in a row or column.
•
Rename all the patches or just the selected ones.
•
Replace selected patches by White, 50% Gray, Black, or OSA-UCS
background.
•
Copy selected patches to the last column.
•
Add White patches to fill the last column.
•
Extract selected patches to a new file.
•
Delete selected patches.
Once in the patch edition mode, you can select a single patch at a time by
clicking on each of them or select many patches by clicking and dragging
on the layout. A red border is shown around each selected patch.
You will notice that a small arrow appears on the right of the “Edit patches” text, immediately followed by a number, in red, between
parentheses. The number in red indicates how many patches are selected. Clicking on the arrow opens a popup menu associated to the
selected patches. A similar, more complete, menu also appears if you do a right-click on the patches layout; this other menu, shown below, is
more complete because it contains menu commands which are dependent on the mouse position (such as “Select this ROW” or "Move selected
patches... / BEFORE this patch"). Please consult the PatchTool Help manual for more information.
