The PatchTool Join Files tool can join two or more color lists which are defined by the same color reference data type. For the purpose of this tool, files with spectral data are considered compatible with xyY, XYZ, L*a*b*, and L*C*h data types. The xyY, XYZ, L*a*b*, and L*C*h data types are also compatible with each other. The number of patches in each file can be different. The joined file will open immediately as a new file. When you place the mouse cursor in the “color ref.” column, you can see additional information on the file data. This information is shown below the table in green. It is also possible to join CMYK and RGB if such data was imported in ALL files to join. In the screenshot above, CMYK data was NOT imported in the first file selected (while RGB data was imported) and it will thus not be possible to include this field even if CMYK data was imported in other files.
